This blended learning series was developed by the Pima County Immigrant Victims of Violence Task Force, and sponsored by the University of Arizona Mel and Enid Zuckerman College of Public Health, and the Connie Hillman Family Foundation. The blended learning series is presented in three sections. Modules 1 and 2 are combined in the first section, titled ‘Understanding the Rights of Immigrant Victims of Sexual and Domestic Violence’. The second section contains Module 3 and is titled ‘Legal Remedies’. The third section contains Module 4 and is titled ‘Two Women’s Stories’.

Outcome:

Learners will develop an awareness of the dynamics of domestic violence and sexual violence specific to immigrant populations to be able to implement appropriate interventions for victims of domestic and sexual violence.

  • Video-Documentary of two women’s personal stories and their journey through the process of seeking help as a result of violence and abuse
  • Case Simulation-Culminating activity that takes the learners through the assistance process applying the course principles and objectives.

Course Duration: Each section will take 20 minutes to complete. Total instructional time is 60 minutes
