Course Summary:

This training reviews the normal physiology of breastfeeding and the benefits of increasing breastfeeding rates. Policies specific to breastfeeding promotion are reviewed including paid parental leave, Baby Friendly Hospitals, Policies in the Workplace and Community.  Breastfeeding disparities and progress made to improve breastfeeding rates in the WIC program are also discussed.

  • Identify assets and resources to improve breastfeeding
  • Advocate for the use of evidence in decision making that affects breastfeeding
  • Engage in community members to improve breastfeeding rates in the community

This course will prepare you to take steps towards improving workplace culture through assessment and management of psychosocial factors key to a healthy workplace culture: psychological safety, meaning and purpose, inclusive leadership, autonomy, flexibility, and fairness.
